Russell Cozart

Senior Vice President, Marketing & Product Strategy, Cyxtera

Russell Cozart leads the Marketing and Product Strategy organization for Cyxtera, responsible for go-to-market strategies, product marketing, demand generation, brand, digital platforms, analyst relations, and corporate communications. With over 15 years in the IT infrastructure industry, Cozart has broad experience across marketing, product management, operations, business development, and global product strategy.

Prior to joining Cyxtera, Cozart led General Electric’s Product Management organization for Cloud, Compute, and Networking. At GE, he developed and implemented GE’s product management strategies for an $800M portfolio of IT infrastructure products and platforms powering the company’s 11 global business units.

Previously, Cozart led Compute Product Management within Cloud Platform Services at VMware where he drove critical elements in the evolution of VMware’s as-a-service strategy focused primarily on vCloud Services, including the development and global launch of VMware’s vCloud Air commercial and federal platforms.

Prior to joining VMware, Cozart led the development and launch of Dell’s VMware vCloud Data Center Services platform as part of the organization’s entrance into delivering enterprise compute as a service. He guided end-to-end VMware platform and service delivery strategy within the cloud services portfolio.

Cozart also held multiple leadership positions at Terremark, later acquired by Verizon, where he led strategic service management for the organization’s cutting-edge Enterprise Cloud platform, the leading cloud solution for enterprises and government agencies. He was responsible for the service delivery and service management strategies for Enterprise Cloud customers and was a key driver behind initiatives to evolve the solution’s development.

Cozart received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from McMurry University and his Master of Business Administration degree from University of Texas at Arlington.
