Colocation, Connectivity in Data Centers

Advanced Network Service-enabled DFW data center gives clients the best of both worlds

Some say that everything’s better (and bigger) in Texas. From 10-gallon hats and cowboy boots to bar-b-que and rodeos, Texas lives by the adage, go big or go home. The same holds true for data centers. Case in point, the Dallas/Fort Worth data center corridor, which is the country’s second largest (after Northern Virginia) and home to 105 data center providers and more than 400 data centers.

In a pack like this, some providers may struggle to set themselves apart from the crowd, but when your data center is Advanced Network Service (ANS)-enabled, the advantages are clear. We’re pleased to be able to provide partners in our Dallas/Fort Worth facility with ANS capabilities. Our three, purpose-built DFW data centers offer low latency to both coasts, ideal for mission-critical production or disaster recovery needs, plus click-to-provision access to HPE and Nutanix servers with Cyxtera's Enterprise Bare Metal without any colocation requirement. This is a tremendous feature for companies who find themselves needing to quickly move mission-critical workloads from either their on-prem data center or public cloud.

A prime example of this was the storm earlier this winter that cut power for days to much of Texas. Lengthy power outages meant many enterprises found themselves needing to move their data quickly. Not only did Cyxtera experience zero disruptions in our data centers, we had on-demand cabinets ready for weather-affected companies to migrate workloads immediately.

Beyond weather emergencies, our on-demand cabinets meet the evolving business needs of growing enterprises that might be looking to house critical workloads offsite but are hesitant because of security issues or whose AI needs have outstripped their current on-prem or colo capabilities. With our bare metal solutions, companies have the best of both worlds — all the flexibility of cloud with the benefits of enterprise-grade dedicated infrastructure in an on-demand, subscription-based model. Designed to meet a broad range of workload needs, our DFW data center is NVIDIA DGX ready and certified to enable AI workloads.

Many large enterprises have on-prem data centers for their steady-state workloads, while others already have a trusted colo provider. All enterprises have workloads in public cloud — and they should. But when you are talking about mission-critical applications, they need critical support and having an option outside of your own physical infrastructure is essential. As a business scales, its needs evolve. We’re helping our customers solve timely challenges including migrating workloads off-prem, avoiding a costly tech refresh, repatriating workloads not fit for public cloud and enabling hybrid IT connectivity.

Why not let us handle the day-to-day management of your data, so you can focus on innovation and growing your business?
