Connectivity in Interconnection

IP Connect provides rapidly provisioned, fault-tolerant connectivity via multiple Tier 1 ISP backbones. Powered by our CXD platform, deploying a fast and cost-effective primary or backup IP connection takes just minutes, and connectivity can be scaled up and down on demand via API or the Cyxtera Command Center portal. IP Connect is available in bandwidths ranging from 10 Mbps to 10 Gbps, available on a month to month term.

As we start a new decade in 2020, it is critical for Enterprises to have a clear and successful digital strategy. Online sales are replacing traditional brick and mortar business, the complexity of web scale applications and customer engagement models is increasing exponentially, and cyber security threats pose a greater risk to brand image and revenue than ever before.

Businesses need reliable, high-bandwidth, low-latency connectivity to their customers and partners, and one of the most effective ways to reach these constituents is via the public internet. Most data center clients leverage multiple ISPs (Internet Service Providers) and a complex stack of load balancing, dynamic routing protocols such as BGP (Border Gateway Protocol), firewalls, and advanced network security measures. Cyxtera is reducing the cost and complexity of this deployment by bringing in high-bandwidth diverse physical internet connectivity to all of our CXD (Cyxtera Extensible Data Center) market data centers and operating our own fault-tolerant MAN (Metropolitan Area Networks).

Cyxtera simplifies implementation, reduces cost and complexity, and significantly increases application availability by managing the primary and secondary ISP backbone peering connections. We deliver dual physical Single Mode Fiber handoffs interconnected to the Cyxtera Software Defined Network fabric, ensuring maximum uptime backed by clearly defined Service Level Agreements.

The CIR (Committed Information Rate) determines minimum bandwidth thresholds and pricing tiers, which offers a predictable cost model while simultaneously providing the ability to burst to higher bandwidths up to 10Gbps. We support dual stack IPv4/IPv6 addressing, dynamic and static routing protocols, provide DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) mitigation, and allow clients to bring their own ARIN registered IP addresses. Customers can use BGP to augment their existing IP transit service, enabling a fault tolerant network design.
