Cyxtera Federal Group Appoints Cheryl D. Peace as COO

Former White House Director for Cyberspace Security Brings Significant Intelligence Community and Defense Experience to Cyxtera’s Rapidly Growing Federal Group

Washington, DC – Feb. 28, 2018 – Cyxtera Technologies, the secure infrastructure company, today announced it has appointed Cheryl D. Peace as chief operating officer of Cyxtera Federal Group, which offers the company’s advanced cybersecurity solutions and global data center platform to the U.S. federal government market. Prior to joining Cyxtera, Peace served as a senior executive with the National Security Agency, and has 30 years of managerial and technical experience across the intelligence community and the Department of Defense.

As the White House Director for Cyberspace Security, Peace coordinated cyber issues across federal, state and local governments. She was pivotal in creating the first Department of Homeland Security (DHS) National Cyber Security Division, where she coordinated with industry to align national incident responses to cyber threats. She also oversaw the President’s National Infrastructure Advisory Council (NIAC) and the National Security Telecommunication Advisory Council (NSTAC) made up of key industry CEOs who advised the President of the United States.

In her role as the principal deputy director for the FBI’s National Cyber Investigative Joint Task Force (NCIJTF), Peace facilitated inter-agency efforts across 20 agencies within the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community and law enforcement to coordinate, integrate and share pertinent information related to national cyber threat investigations. She has also worked at the Defense Information Systems Agency, the Defense Intelligence Agency and served for ten years as a Major in the United States Air Force.

Peace is an award-winning government information security professional and was named one of the “Women of Influence” by the Executive Women’s Forum and CSO magazine. She holds an Undergraduate Degree in Mathematics and a Masters in Management Science. She is also a graduate of the Federal Executive Institute and The Wharton School for Business Executives for Strategic Alliances.
