The pandemic has not only accelerated the public and private sectors’ digital transformation, it also forced IT professionals to rethink which workloads truly belong in public cloud environments. With the recent imperative from President Biden to government agencies to modernize their cybersecurity, the impetus to move workloads to a secure cloud is even greater.

The pandemic also brought with it increased economic uncertainty, meaning that workload migration must be accomplished within tight budgets. For these reasons, federal agencies are seeking greater cost transparency and predictability than presently offered by public cloud billing models..
